While it may be possible to make a rational argument, I believe your sophomoric diction alone leaves you only to fail miserably. Furthermore, I might suggest that your diatribe says much more about YOU than about ME. Rolling Eyes

cunt (n.) vulgar slang

1. The female genital organs.
2. Sexual intercourse with a woman.
3. (offensive) Used as a disparaging term for a woman.
4. Used as a disparaging term for a person one dislikes or finds extremely disagreeable.

(shrug) I guess everyone is entitled to their opinion.

only a complete hypocrite would get offended by this game, there are mass produced and sold in major stores games about pearl harbor, or any ww2 game, or any action game that is based on real events for that matter. there is virtiualy NO difference between those and this game, infact the victims of the evens thats games I mention were based by counted in MILLIONS, to which Columbine shooting is an unexistantly insignificant event. Infact millions of people in other countries suffer to this day so you can get you can of coke, and you fucking pussy got your panties in a twist becasue of this game? Your a hypocrite peice of shit, why dont you pick something that matters to get mad about, and stop wasting your breath on telling us how offencive this game is and how horrible the tragety it was based of. Every day, just in this country, there are more deaths by gun fire then in the Columbine shooting, yet for some reason those deaths dont match up in significance with Columbine... Why?.

Well, at first I thought it was very wrong. I beleive that violence should stay only in video games, and the idea of making a columbine shooting game would seem in between the lines. It could've gone with all the gloomy poetry too, even though it emphasizes the storyline. It wasn't until they died and went to hell that I was pleasantly surprised. I thought it was funny, they started fighting demons from doom in hell! It was at that point that I thought "Wow, this game really rocks!". The brass knuckles, the weapons, the soldiers, the cyberdemon...ah it just brings back memories! I used to play doom all the time and I can tell you, you revived it. I was so hooked on game.
So I was fixing to ask you, are you going to make a sequel to this fine epoch?

I'm glad the concept of the game finally caught on with you. It's really layered in such ways that people will take from it what they're inclined to: sordid sadness, graphic violence, satire, videogame send-ups...

No sequel for me... but I hope I've encouraged people to think creatively about how to express their thoughts on "unthinkable tragedies."

Some people think that WWII was a tragedy, and they make games about that. Vietnam was a tragedy.

Vietnam and WWII were tragedies, but they were wars, not the killing of innocent people. Whoever made this is not only fucked up, but probably a few hundred pounds overweight. What kind of idiot would not only have the idea to make a game based on a slaughter of high school students (middle school as well), but then actually be stupid/ignorant enough to carry it out? You are basically glorifying what these kids did...it really comes across like you are attempting to compensate for something (pretending to be a bad ass sociopath because you lack anything in any other dept, including but not limited to dick size, physical strength, skill at any sport, and a little something I like to call life). So in short, go take a long walk off a short pier, short drop and subtle stop, take a leap of faith off a bridge, etc.

"Vietnam and WWII were tragedies, but they were wars, not the killing of innocent people" This is problematic because, as anyone who has studied war crimes and the history of wars can tell you, many many innocent people are killed in wars--often deliberately (the My Lai Massacre in Vietnam, the US firebombing of Japanese cities in WWII). I wholly reject the notion that war has some sort of moral exception to the standards Eric and Dylan were held to.

And I'm nowhere near overweight (in quite good shape, to the contrary), though I appreciate your concern on the growing obesity in America.

What, did that take you like, 20 minutes to look up those words in a dictionary? Somebody is gonna seriously fuck you up, man. The fact that you would put so much time into such a vulgar and disgusting game says a lot a bout you too...

I'm not going to lie to you I play violent stuff, CS, Halo, Doom 3, Quake. but these are either fantasy realms or people w/ no names. With this game you are going to offend REAL PEOPLE.

"but WW2 gaems is jsut liek it LoLz" ................no, just no. It's not just like it you dumbass. World War 2 was a fucking WAR. Hell, its in it's FUCKING NAME, World WAR 2. There are different rules applied to Wars and tragedies like this. Cuz dude, shit happens in a war, disgusting shit that nobody wants to talk about. Shit like Columbine doesn't happen. A high school is not a fucking warzone, in the literal sense.

Seriously man, go get some help.

Maybe I'm stupid, I don't know, but it seems to me that double standards and hypocrisy don't really make a good case. I have a hard time accepting the argument that the killing found in games based on wars is more appropriate than the killing in this game. I also find it terribly revealing that many of those commenting against the game desire the creator to be shot.

It's interesting to see people trying to make arguments that defeat themselves.

And how was a war in another country any different to the war these kids were dealing with in school?

Zip, that's how much. The whole point of the game is to put it in their perspective. I played the game, it was a bit monotonous, comical towards the end during the whole hell/doom thing.

However, considering I took little of my own time to ever bother trying to eat the media crap coverage of the shootings, I knew little of their perspective.

Mind you my whole opinion in the first place is that some bully picked the wrong day and the wrong mind to try to flush down a toilet. Could have been an isolated incident, could have been that these two kids dealt with this kind of stuff for years.

Either way, they still saw it as a war. They, in whatever twisted reality they lived in (as shown by the 'hell' scenario) still believed themselves validated because of this war.

My point here is that this game does what it was intended. And my other point here is that once considering other perspectives; there is no difference between the WWII, Vietnam, or even Black Hawk Down, games out there to this one. All this game is push the limits to what your half-assed, lazy marketing company would want to publish because too many christains would say its wrong, evil, and promotes satanic acts. Mind you they say this just before going off to fuck a nun or fondle the altar boys.

People die. Wether they're carrying a gun or not. Wether it was by the hands of another person or by nature herself. It's not just a part of war, it's a part of life. Get used to it.

Colubine was not a war but a tragedy in which two teenagers went into a school with guns and killed many innocent children, who were not in combat, who were not trained for combat, who had futures and lives.

Families today grieve over their children who died, one kid remembres his sister getting shot outside the school coming to get him out of the libray for a rock concert.

So, lets make a deal, I will kill your whole family, all your freinds, danm, I'm gonna fuck your whole life up, then I'm gonna make a video game about me shooting every shred of happiness and every person you ever loved so that everyone in the world can join me in virtually ruing your goddanm life you worthless peice of fucking hell shit.

wait till you die, you will be knocking on door number 666, I'm sure even the devil will have fun shredding your pint size dick...

I think part of the problem is that anything can be potentially offensive. It's basically a sure thing that this will piss people off, yes, and I have no doubt that persons affected by the tradgedy will be upset (to say the least) at it.

Columbine, however, was a one-time, very specific event, and this game only deals with it specifically. So, let's take for example the Grand Theft Auto games. They deal with very general subject matter of a similarly offensive nature; street crimes, drug dealing, organized crime, drive-by shootings, and gang warfare. I think that, because they are so generalized open-ended an unspecific, that more people will be able to relate to them, and thusly be offended. Compare how many families were directly affected by the shooting at Columbine to the number of families affected by street crime every day.

Any game, any movie, any book can be offensive to anyone if they can relate to it on a personal level.

I don't think that anyone will say what those two boys did isn't a damnable offense, whatever your concept of the word "damnable" is. However, creating a game that tries to give a unique perspective on the events that unfolded and distributing it on a small scale, for free, on the internet is just a (very creative!) excercise of free speech.

(Also, I think once you've brought a person's penis size into any argument, any point you've tried to make is lost. And, last time I checked, hoping/wishing that people go to Hell isn't exactly encoraged by any sect of Cristianity/Judaism.)

I'm really encouraged to find other people representing my point of view from time to time... it essentially signifies that I'm not out on an untenable limb here... that (to employ a recent film analogy) some of the online community are donning Guy Fawkes masks with me and remembering the twentieth of April...

And sure, some critics will always find solace in ad hominem; it inflates a downtrodden ego to assert that someone is going to hell, has a small penis, or wields a pretentious vocabulary. Frankly, I don't take it personally when a small child calls me "funny looking" either... consider the infantile source of the criticism before gauging its validity, I say.

Maybe Columbine makes us angrier because the "evil" somehow came from "inside" our society. Not a foreign power, or street hoodlums (re: GTA) from a lower class. Just a thought.

I'm not going to bother swearing, because I see that most of you kids support this game think that you are pretty smart with your witty come-backs and thesauruses. But the fact remains that there is no part of this game that is good. ( i tried it so i could actually have an opiniong). It was disgusting, and these people who commited these crimes were messed up, and so are their supporters.
All of you saying, "only hypocrites would hates this game, look at all the violence in all the other games in today's society" well that is the most unintelligent thing I have heard in my life.
I personally play GTA every now and again, and it's fun, don't get me wrong. But this is a game glorifying two very fucked up anti-social kids who killed there fellow students, teachers, and themselves. One of the saddest moments of our modern country, and you are glorifying it.
You would get the same reaction if someone made a game where you could play as the terrorist piolets from 911, it's awful.

I'm not going to be returning to the forum ever again, so feel free to responded about "how dumb I am, how much a hypocrite I am, and how wrong I am", but at the end of the day ou people supporting this are still messed up. So have fun continuing to cast yourselves out of society.

Anything any of us say here is truly pointless. Talking about who the developer is going to Hell for making such a horrible game. Or wether it is right or wrong. It's free speech baby. And the developer has every right to make this, and let people play it. And they nesayers (sp?) have every right to play it and go back to a nice game of Bejeweled. Now I have no played this game, Don't really have much of a desire since I never really enjoyed the old RPG's of the 16-bit era. But here is someone who did play it. Holy shit it was someone who was paralyzed by one of the gunmen during the Columbine incident

http://www.kotaku.com/gaming/columbine-super-massacre-rpg/columbine-victim-talks-about-columbine-rpg-_.php

Now, every person for or against should shut up for about 5 seconds and take a look at a perspective from someone who has every right to be offended, and read his words.

Exactly, when you make a game like this you are asking a player to give up their humanity. You ask the player to hold a gun up to a defenseless, good, young stranger, who is begging for mercy sobbing at your feet, you ask the player to kill a non threat. Is this what you spent your time on? Is this your great acomplishment? Is your family proud? Are your fellow men proud? Better question, can you tell your boss that you made the game where you play out columbine from the shooters perspective.

It would be differant if you had made the game differantly (I havnt played it, not wanting to support this "art" in the littlest bit, but I have read and reviewed over it extensivly) but you glorify the killers, those men werent heros?! Give the students guns, then you can argue the point, fact is that these two cowardly men where evil pussies, so dont even mock me with, "You two are brave boys" how about "You two are fucking pussies"

I'm just wondering if anyone attacking the game can actually spell, or make an intelligent arguement? Instead of "u r blah blah stupid, gay, hell...", whatever, why not try calmly thinking about what you're saying. Also, just because someone supporting the game can use big words does not really mean for sure that they are using a thesaurus, and personally, I don't think it would hurt for some of you arguing against it to pull out a dictionary or thesaurus. Who knows, it might even help your weak arguements.

As far as the arguement of this is different than war, they were killing innocent people..... are you all so insanely naive to think that no innocent people die in war, or that it's not at the hands of you're own grandfather's, father's, brother's, sister's, mother's, and/or friend's hands? Can someone tell me how one "innocent" person's death is more meaningful or tragic that anothers. It's just that this is on a personal level, I'm guessing most of the people here are in school still.

As for the arguement that "it's just a game", or "people play games like this all the time but they're not killing people". I don't care what games you play, what tv shows or movies you watch. You are responsible for what you do, simply put, not your family, not how much money you have, or what happens to you at school. It all comes down to your personal decisions at any given moment, and that is true for people all over the world.

Everyone is entitled to their oppinion, who are you to say that it's the wrong one? Just because that oppinion is not one that your society dictates as the right one does not make it so.

Me personally, if there is a hell, I probably will be there, but personally I don't really believe in hell because according to most (if not all) religions you have to be "a part of the club" to go to heaven, regardless of whether you lead a good life or not.

Anyone here that went to Columbine at the time has more right than anyone else to put it down, and yet the only person I have seen on here having anything to do with the shooting is supporting the game...

All in all I feel bad for the families that lost children/brothers/sisters because no matter who you are, it hurts to lose someone close, which includes the parents of the two that did all the killing. (I'm not condoning or justifying anything, just merely stating that it must REALLY be shitty to be the parents of those two for so many different reasons)

respond however you want, I'll see it and respond back, but at least take the time to think about what you're saying, lest you look like a fool. Remember, it's always better to keep you're mouth shut and everyone think you a fool, than to open it and remove all doubt.

obviously no one is out here to change people's mind on the game, anyone that plays it has already made and closed their mind. The basic reason why gamers shun this terrible scripting (really, couldnt u have made the game a little more representable) is because the gaming community does not want to have anything to do with this game. Columbine is usually used in arguments against violent video games. Yes it was a massacre but it the creators of doom and quake had nothing to do with it.

This game is not only a threat for the welfare of M games, but it mocks a tragedy that gamers have signed a secret contract to respect. Every gamer knows about columbine, and every gamer respects the incident like they would approach 9-11.

Finally this game illistrates the plan that the two most well known student killers plotted. Do you relize that as soon as a school shooter plays this game and then goes out and shoots up a school in "remembrence" of columbine lawers will jump on the chance to charge you on some crime, and trust me, a jury would be glad to say "guilty"

Damnit, my point still isn't being taken people, if you're not sure about a word or you are typing fast or WHATEVER, look it up or look over it. You look stupid and you're argument is much less respected (in my eyes anywho, I'm sure there is at least one other person that agrees with me) when you can't even spell illUstrated, reAlized (did you know realized can be spelled as realised as well, hmmmm, never knew that. Learn something new every day I guess), remembrAnce, lawYers, and HALF!!!

I think that argument from guest, (about 9/11 and lawsuits and whatnot) was absolutely RETARDED. You OBVIOUSLY have no idea how the law works.

Plus I'm an avid gamer and I have no problem with anything about this game. I never "signed a secret contract" to respect shit, and I would be perfectly willing to play a very detailed video game from 9/11. Think of it as understanding how to prevent it, or even just to bring a little attention to things and make you think about it.

I think that most people made their minds up about the game the second they saw it/heard about it, one way or the other. They may have played the game even if they hated it just to point out more that was wrong with it, or to give it a chance. People that like the game can like it as far as I'm concerned, same goes for people that hate it, I DON'T CARE. Only thing is, if you're going to argue about it, at least come up with a good reason other than "going to hell" or "that's horrible". TRY to be intelligent, that's the point of discussion.

Who died and made you god?

You know I`ve got better things to be doing but this forum is so funny I`ve got to keep coming back just to read the `extremely` rational arguments about how evil it is. `Specially when the messages consist of `U R Cuntzzz and you smell and I`m going to cry coz UR game scared me`....

To all people criticizing this game:
you all play games about WWII.
Several dozen of million people died in that war.
Is it fucked up to make movies and games about it?
Shut up you idiots.
Stop selling guns in USA as it were hamburgers and all this mess won't happen again.

sell less weapons and then you will live better.
eric and dylan had their problems but americans have problems around whole earth.

You know, there was a town that everyone owned a gun, I don't remember what it is/was called, but you know what the rate of crime (violent or otherwise) was? FUCKING 0! You know why? No one is dumb enough to go around robbing people or shooting people if they know everyone can retaliate the same way. Not to say that fear couldn't cause a town like that to rip itself apart, but I hope you get the point.

How brilliant!
Everyone owning a gun=zero crime!

What the hell cops are supposed to exist for?
If ZERO citizens had a gun, the crime rate could be zero as well. Look at canada. People don't even lock the door at home!
Easy gun = easy crime.
